Scheduled oil sampling is a proactive maintenance practice that effectively monitors equipment condition and helps reduce downtime and the risk of catastrophic failure.  Scheduled oil sampling (SOS) monitors critical oil information, such as contamination, over time.  Scheduled sampling establishes a baseline that helps detect abnormal wear and/or incorrect operator techniques or habits before the issue leads to major component failure.
