Twin Disc offers a complete line of Single-Stage Hydraulic Torque converters of both the stationary and rotating housing type and Three-Stage Hydraulic Torque converters in a wide range of types, sizes and capacities with a broad variety of input and output combinations.
SUMPLESS SINGLE-STAGE CONVERTERS WITH PTO DRIVES
For vehicle applications with power-shift transmissions. Available in 11, 13, 14, 14.5, 16, 17.5, 18.5, 21, and 23" sizes. Capacities range from 40 to 1350 hp. Power take-off points provided for driving auxiliary hydraulic pumps. A modulating clutch to provide power dividing capability is available in most sizes.
SINGLE-STAGE ROTATING HOUSING
Twin Disc builds a complete line of Single-Stage Torque Converters including the 1100, 1300, 1400, 1450, 1500, 1600, 1700, 1750, 1800, 1850, 2100 and 2300 Series. The first two digits in the series number indicate the approximate circuit size in inches.
SINGLE STAGE CONVERTER RENEWAL PARTS KITS
Single-Stage Hydraulic Torque Converter Renewal Parts Kits contain items such as bearings, shims, gaskets, clutch driving plates, gauges, "O" rings, seals, snap rings, piston rings, filer service kits, springs and miscellaneous small parts in one complete package. Twin Disc has four basic Single-Stage Torque Converter Overhaul Kits for Models 6-CO-1504 equipped with an SP-111 Clutch; 6-CO-1512 equipped with an SP-211 Clutch, and 6-C-1309 and 6-CO-1309 equipped with an SP-111 Clutch.
INDUSTRIAL SINGLE-STAGE TORQUE CONVERTERS - STATIONARY HOUSING TYPE
These units are available in 16, 20, 22, 26 and 34" TYPE FOUR circuit sizes and they are custom-built for specific requirements. The TYPE FOUR torque converter's features affirm it is a torque converter representative of the highest degree in the state of the art. Stationary housing, high torque ratio torque converters have exceptional capability for hoisting and lowering from light to heavy loads over extreme speed ranges. A wide variety of input adapters and clutches, gear boxes, output shaft configurations, and the optional 2800 Series Power-Shift Transmission make the TYPE FOUR torque converters a highly versatile series.
TYPE FOUR HYDRAULIC TORQUE CONVERTERS
Designed specifically for the oil and gas industries, these units transfer power from diesel engines and electric motors up to 2610 kW (3500 hp). Offered in 20, 22, 26 and 34" circuit sizes, these converters provide higher torque multiplication and utilize prime mover power over a greater operating range than previous torque converters used in oil field applications. THREE-STAGE HYDRAULIC TORQUE CONVERTERS
The Twin Disc Three-Stage Torque Converter design-incorporating three rings of turbine blades and two sets of reactor or stator blades-develops a very high torque factor-up to five times engine output torque when at stall. Three series of Twin Disc Three-Stage Torque Converters are offered. The 10,000 Series is rated for applications up to 335 hp at 2400 rpm; the Standard-Duty 11,500 Series to 420 hp at 2200 rpm; the Heavy-Duty 11,500 Series to 580 hp at 2200 rpm. Bulletin 135.
MODEL F UNITS
Bolts directly to the engine flywheel housing. A positive gear-tooth drive transmits power from fly-wheel with no clutch. Model F input drive is available on all sizes.
MODEL CF UNITS
Also bolts to engine flywheel housing, but has a clutch between engine flywheel and converter pump wheel. Available in all sizes.
MODEL CO AND FO UNITS
Model CO units are equipped with front-end disconnect clutch and overspeed or boom-lowering freewheel. Model FO units are open-end, flywheel-mounted torque converters with overspeed or boom-lowering freewheel. Units are available in the 10,000 Series.
INPUT AND OUTPUT COMBINATIONS
A variety of output combinations is available with various three-stage converters. Type B is a chain housing. This is available with both the 10,000 and the Standard-Duty 11,500 Series. Type C-1 output is a straight shaft for direct connection to the driven load; the Type C-2 is a flanged shaft for universal joint connection; Type C-3 is similar to the Type C-1 with extra-heavy bearings for side loads. The Heavy-Duty 11,500 Series converters offered with a heavy-duty Type C-3 output. This series adaptable to all applications required to withstand heavy side-pull loads.
