Palmer Johnson Power Systems is committed to the well-being of our employees and our community. We do our best to provide the people we care about with the information, resources and opportunities they need to support the causes close to their hearts.
Boys & Girls Club of Dane County
The Boys & Girls Club of Dane County is a local non-profit that has the mission the be the leader in youth development through partnering with organizations. To commemorate Palmer Johnson’s 40-year anniversary we made a goal to raise $40,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County. This fundraising effort was promoted by Tyler Ubinger through the Tour Divide Race. Tyler embarked on an epic off road, self-supported bike race along the Continental Divide that stretched from Canada to Mexico. This took place in June of 2017 where he rode over 2,750 miles while the club members tracked his every move via GPS. Palmer Johnson exceeded this goal by raising $44,000 to support the kids of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County while providing them with a place to learn and grow.
In 2005, Palmer Johnson Power Systems established the PJ Scholarship Fund in an effort to encourage higher education. Palmer Johnson has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarship funds to the children and grandchildren of Palmer Johnson employees who are pursuing a post-high school degree program at an accredited college or university. Current and past recipients of PJ Scholarships include students studying at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, University of Illinois, Madison College, Illinois State University, Rhodes State College and many others.
The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to defeating heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. Their mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke — the nation’s No.1 and No.5 killers. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that's fun and rewarding for the entire family. Palmer Johnson sponsored a team for the Madison Heart Walk and is dedicated to sponsoring teams in all of the communities we have service centers in for 2016!
Million Pound Challenge
The Million Pound Challenge is a fitness and weight loss campaign that directly benefits the Second Harvest Foodbank's emergency food pantry (sponsored by the Princeton Club). For every pound our team loses, the Princeton Club and other sponsors will contribute 10 pounds of food (up to one million pounds) to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
Second Harvest Food Bank
Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is a hunger-relief charity organization whose goal is to make sure everyone in southwestern Wisconsin has enough of the right kinds of food to live a happy and healthy life. One of the ways they do this is through food distribution. They distribute millions of pounds of food each year through their network of partner agencies and programs. At PJ we try and donate some time volunteering at the food bank in Madison and throughout the country!
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty housing. For 28 years, Habitat for Humanity has built and sold homes to 238 working, low income individuals/families. Habitat also assists other city and county agencies to provide low income housing and remodeling assistance. In 2015, PJ participated in our 2nd annual panel build sponsorship in our parking lot. In about half a day, our team framed the exterior and interior walls of a Habitat house while participating in an exciting day of team building. Working together for a common goal and supporting a great cause, our employees look forward to this day!
