What Information is Needed for a New Pump Drive or Gearbox Application

Austin discusses what information is needed when starting a new application pump drive or gearbox.

Below you can find the list of needed information along with individual links to videos showing you how to measure the various SAE measurements discussed.

Needed Information:

• Engine HP
• Engine RPM
• What is the application?
• How many hours/day will the unit be in use?
• Required ratio
• Dipstick, yes or no?
  • If yes, LH, RH or center mount?
• Pump drive mounting position
• How many output pads?

Input Information:

• What input style?
  • If it’s a clutch or drive plate input:
    • SAE size of the engine flywheel
    • SAE size of the engine flywheel housing
    • Engine pilot bearing bore
    • Engine offset
  • If it’s a clutch:
    • Provide the casting number of the hub & backplate
  • If it’s a keyed shaft, what is the shaft diameter size?

For each output location:

• SAE pump pad size
  • 2 bolt or 4 bolt mounting?
  • If 2 bolt, is it mounted vertically or horizontally?
• SAE pump spline size

Quantity & When You Need it:

• How many pump drives are you needing now?
• How quickly do you need the pump drives?
