This milestone has not been easy and our focus as a team speaks volumes of how committed our people are to keep one another safe!

NAVIGATING SAFETY DURING A PANDEMIC

Throughout each year we spend our time focused on how we improve safety in our facilities. This past year has been no different. The only thing that has changed is navigating through these tough and crucial times to keep our people safe. Our focus started with our Safety Committee cleaning up our documentation and training methods. That quickly shifted to the pandemic and operating as an ”essential“ business. We have not only focused on our teams at work, but their families, our customers, and partners in business.

Our people have stepped up to the challenge providing input and feedback on all of the local protocol at each location as we operate in nine different sites across the US and Canada. Learning to operate in this ”new normal“ condition has been challenging and a tremendous learning experience. Through all of this, the most important thing is we are staying safe! Flexibility has been our watchword as we carve through each day. This culture that has been built over the past five years is a true testament to our people who truly care about each other and I am honored to be a part of this tremendous group of individuals and this amazing accomplishment! EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP

This milestone comes on the heels of recent safety standards and measures put into place company-wide. In both 2015 and 2016, Palmer Johnson implemented a series of assessments to identify and troubleshoot potentially hazardous processes and workflows. By integrating employees in the process through floor walks and informal audits, the company put its workforce front-and-center, helping them feel a greater sense of ownership and ensuring they were able to tackle real-life scenarios that commonly arise on the shop floor and in the field. And most importantly going home safe each and every night.
